If there is one thing I want every parent to take away from TECA's work, it is this: talk to your children early, and talk to them often. About their bodies. About boundaries. About who they can tell if something ever feels wrong or uncomfortable. These conversations are not scary — silence is what is scary.
Children who grow up knowing that their body belongs to them, that no one has the right to violate their boundaries, and that a trusted adult will always listen — those children are equipped. They have a voice. And a child with a voice is far harder to victimize.
TECA exists to champion that message. We advance prevention education and stand behind the advocates, educators, and organizations carrying it into communities every day. Because prevention is not reactive — it is intentional. It starts at home, it starts early, and it starts with you.

The movement to protect children and end abuse is powered by survivor leaders whose lived experience provides unmatched clarity, courage, and vision. Yet, those who dedicate their lives to restoring others are too often left to carry the emotional and financial burden without adequate support. Healing and advocacy are both continuous journeys. To build lasting, survivor-led change, we must actively support and sustain the leadership in the field—providing the financial investment, peer connection, and holistic care necessary to prevent burnout and foster long-term impact. When we restore the restorers, we protect the entire movement.
